Chocolate

One of my friends recently asked me what is the one food that I could not give up, and while I am a big fan of all kinds of meat and Mac & Cheese my answer was easy. Chocolate. I am a huge fan of chocolate in all its forms. Chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake, chocolate covered anything (within reason), chocolate fudge. My favorite form of chocolate is definitely hocolate ice cream. The coldness seems to make the chocolate even better. My favorite chocolate pairing is chocolate and peanut butter. From Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups to peanut butter and Nutella chocolate and peanut butter together is great. Just recently I made a bet with my dad that I would ace my chemistry final, and when he asked what we would be betting, my response was chocolate bars. I won the bet and am now 30 chocolate bars richer, well 20 now. For Christmas I also got a huge five pound piece of chocolate, so currently, I’m loaded. Even though I love chocolate I do understand that it’s not the healthiest of foods, so I do try to limit myself, but that can be hard sometimes. For sure though, the one food I could not give up is chocolate.

Reflection: Seventh Grade

When I first arrived in April, I expected to have as much homework as I did in 6th grade. My assumption was incorrect and I soon realized that there was much more. There was at least an hour of homework a night, even if I worked all of Wildcat Time!

By October my life was very busy. I was playing football in the mornings and I had after school activities almost every day. Combine that with my large homework load and I was working nonstop! Eventually, I settled into a rhythm, and my workload became easier to manage. I learned three important things this year, don’t procrastinate, be meticulous, and pay attention.

As the year come to a close, I’m wishing that I could have some of my teachers again next year. If I had to do it over again, I would make an effort to be more organized. I wouldn’t just shove everything in the pockets and I would actually put them in the binder rings. My advise to next years sixth graders is to not procrastinate!

The Day I Died, By: Shel Silverstein

This morning I jumped on my horse,
And went out for a ride,
And some wild outlaws chased me
And they shot me in the side.
So I crawled into a wildcat’s cave
To find a place to hide,
But some pirates found me sleeping there,
And soon they had me tied
To a pole and built a fire
Under me—I almost cried
Till a mermaid came and cut me loose
And begged to be my bride,
So I said I’d come back Wednesday
But I must admit I lied.
Then I ran into a jungle swamp
But I forgot my guide
And I stepped into some quicksand,
And no matter how I tried
I couldn’t get out, until I met
A water snake named Clyde,
Who pulled me to some cannibals
Who planned to have me fried.
But an eagle came and swooped me up
And through the air we flied,
But he dropped me in a boiling lake
A thousand miles wide.
And you’ll never guess what I did then-
I DIED

I chose this poem because of the outrageous lies. This poem also symbolizes my wild imagination by coming up with all these exotic ideas.

It remember that Christmas back in 2004. I can imagine myself, my leg was in a cast, laying on the ground. I can remember waiting for what seemed like an eternity for my grandma to wake up. scooting forwards as fast as I could towards the tree, my face split with an eager grin.

Underneath the blue and red wrapping paper, were Thomas the Trains. Oh those little trains came in a wide variety of colors. Along with the trains was enough track to go around the Christmas tree twice! The trains had little magnetic part on their front and back so you could attach them together effortlessly.

The image above should show what the trains looked like. This image awakens fond memories of the trains. It also brings me to realize how different toys are today. Everything, and I mean everything, is automated.

I played with those trains till I was about seven, and I never got tired of playing with them. Over the years my collection grew till a had around seventy trains and enough track to go all the way around my house (our smaller house in California not our big one in Texas!). I also got a humongous train table. But that is for a different post.

It’s a small world

Would you rather live in a very lively city with lots of cool events that are open to the public, or a city that is just, well, unexciting? If you would rather live in the more lovely city then Austin Texas is the place for you. Austin Texas is a very fun and
There is always something interesting going on in Austin. It seems that once one music festival is over another is not far away. Just recently SXSW (south by southwest) was going on here with lots of live music and interactive expos going on. Another big music festival is ACL (Austin City Limits) during which there is music for everyone.
Another Awesome thing about Austin is that there is an Austin based team for many sports. The Longhorns are probably one of the most well known Austin team. There is also a F1 (formula 1) here in Austin. Formula 1 is a type of racing in which the cars can go up to 350mph.
Austin is a great place to live for many reasons, and if you don’t believe me, come and see for yourself! If I had to live anywhere in the world I would probably live in Austin.

Pixelmon

Last weekend I was finally able to install my first mod for Minecraft! I installed the mod pixelmon, a combination of two of my favorite games, Minecraft and Pokemon! The process to install this mod was very complicated, and I had to watch multiple videos to figure out how to do the harder parts. But after hours of googling, watching tutorials, and lots of anger, I finally got it installed.

In pixelmon, instead of buying poke balls in a pokemart, you have to make them using apricots that you find in the forest, and iron which is found underground. You the. There are many different colors of apricots, and different combinations of different colors will make different types of poke balls.

For me, pixelmon is very fun, though to some people, it may look like the stupidest game ever.

Expository Writing- Why Stress is Harmful- By: Zach A. and Alan R.

Uhhg. C’mon, it’s ok, calm down, deep breaths. Whoosh. Stress can affect your ability to do things.

To begin with, stress can cause you to have a hard time focusing. For instance, during a math test, I wasted the first five minute worrying about how well I would do. As a result, I was unable to finish the last three problems. If I hadn’t wasted that time being stressed – I would have finished! Stress caused me to lose focus and waste valuable time!

Furthermore, you may do things while you are stressed that can physically harm your body. For example, I left all my homework till Sunday night to do, and I became very stressed that I wouldn’t get it done before I had to go to bed. As I worked I unconsciously bit my nails and clenched my jaw. When I finished, my nails were no more and my jaws ached. Stress caused me to harm myself, and waste time, when I shouldn’t have.

Stress does bad things to you. Stressing out about things can only make them harder, so stay calm! Uhhg, now I want to get my science test that I have tommorrow over with!

My eyes darted to the window as I heard footsteps in the yard. As I peered into the darkness- I saw a figure dressed in black moving down the driveway. The outdoor lights suddenly flickered on and illuminated the figure. The UPS symbol was clearly recognize able from my vantage point – and I knew all was well.

Girl Scout Cookies!

It is finally Girl Scout cookie season again! My sister, Leah, is a Girl Scout so I can buy cookies from her anytime. My favorite Girl Scout cookies are the Samoas and Thin Mints. I also like the Tag alongs and Savanna Smiles, also known as peanut butter paddies and lemonades. I like the Samoas for their texture and coconutty flavor, Thin Mints for their mintyness, Tag alongs for their peanut butter, and Savanna Smile for their lemon taste.

Brett

I have a little brother, Brett, who is 6 years younger than me. Last year he started to get periodically sick with a fever every 3 weeks. He would stay sick for 3 or 4 days and then he would get better. My mom took him in to the doctor and she diagnosed him with some disease, I can’t remember its name, in which every 3 weeks his immune system goes haywire for 3 days and then gets better. This is not contagious, and there is no medication that can get rid of it. Apparently he will grow out of this disease when he goes through puberty. This means he will get sick 63 days of every year for a another 6 years.
